ACCOUNTANT
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the incumbent will be responsible for various financial tasks crucial to the department's success. These include revenue accounting, posting journal entries, payroll administration, performing general ledger account reconciliations, and auditing file indexes every month to meet predetermined deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform are relevant activities to ensure monthly payroll is run promptly, pay slips distributed to employees per the agreed timetable
· Ensure compliance with all payroll statutory deductions and keep stakeholders informed about the existing tax laws and accounting standards
· Process all statutory payments such as PAYE, SNNIT, and others to ensure prompt filling of statutory returns
· Design bullion revenue schedule, and update it with weekly shipments and outturn reports from the refinery company
· Reconcile gold assay reports between Asanko and Rand refinery, advise management to defer the assay reports for the umpire if the variance is above agreed splitting limits
· Perform any other duties that the supervisor will assign
· Prepare the following reconciliations and corrections made before each financial period closure:

· SSNIT
· PF
· Wages & Salaries
· Rent Account
· Union Dues
· Compassionate Loan
· Annual Leave Accrual
· Bonus Account
· Other Payables
· Receivable Accounts
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Knowledge
· A degree in Commerce, Financial Accounting, or relevant qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
· Must have a minimum of four (4) years post-qualification experience in a similar role in the mining or related industry
· Strong computer literacy skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
· A hands-on approach and being willing to work long hours to obtain the required results
